[R]Description - Adult: 6 to 7 mm long, grey and marked with black spots (*) . - Larva: maggot-like. The posterior extremity bears a crown of 10 small black membranous points, 2 of which are bifidate, which are also visible on the puparium (spiracles). - Puparium: barrel-shaped, 7 to 8 mm long.
The bicarbonate of soda or ammonia (alkalis) should have turned the cabbabge water a pale greeny-blue. The vinegar or lemon juice (acids) should have turned the cabbage water a reddish colour.
The cabbage head is an unexpanded stem surrounded by overlapping fully expanded leaves. The leaves are usually shredded or cut away from the stem, and the stem itself is rarely eaten. Color is green or purple.

Location Of Production;(1) Counties with the most acres in cabbages are primarily located in the Northwest region of the state. The following counties are the top cabbage producers in the state: Sandusky, Huron, Lucas, Greene, Fairfield, Wood and Ottawa.
