Using protein sequence data obtained from a calcium- and phospholipid-regulated protein kinase purified from maize (Zea mays), we isolated a cDNA encoding a calcium-dependent protein kinase (CDPK), which we designated ZmCPK11.

Twenty-three larvae survived for only three to four days. On fifth and ninth days of the test moulting by the remaining two larvae was recorded. One of these survived for only 11 days. On 16th day the other larvae stopped feeding and on the 18th day it pupated.
